Possible Causes
Failed Pahlen keypad membrane, Moisture ingress into display panel, Damaged keypad cable, Control board interface failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing the front panel or display assembly.
Step-by-step checks:
- Inspect front panel: Look for cracks, water streaks, or condensation behind the display window. Dry the area thoroughly.
- Check keypad cable: Remove the display panel as per Pahlen instructions and inspect the cable and connector for damage or corrosion. Reseat the connector.
- Test buttons: With power restored, test each button. If some or all buttons do not respond, the keypad membrane may be defective.
- Replace display/keypad: If cleaning and reseating do not help, replace the Pahlen display/keypad assembly with an OEM part.
When to stop: If a new keypad does not resolve the issue, the main control board may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
