Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Switch off power at the breaker before removing any covers. High-pressure refrigerant is dangerous; only certified technicians may open the sealed system.
User checks:
- Confirm water flow: Ensure the pool pump is running at the correct speed and that bypass valves around the Poolex unit are correctly set. The heater should receive full flow as per the installation manual.
- Clean pool filter: Backwash sand filters or clean cartridge filters to restore proper flow. Check for partially closed return valves.
- Inspect condenser/evaporator coil: On air-source Poolex units, the large finned coil must be clean and unobstructed. Remove leaves, plastic, and dirt. Clean gently with water.
- Check ambient conditions: Ensure there is at least the recommended clearance around the unit (typically 50–100 cm) so hot discharge air can escape. Do not enclose the unit.
- Reset: After improving flow and airflow, restore power and clear the error via the control panel. Monitor operation.
Technician checks:
- Measure high-side pressure and compare to Poolex specifications.
- Verify operation of the high-pressure switch and replace if it trips prematurely.
- Check for refrigerant overcharge or non-condensable gases and correct as needed.
If F2 recurs, discontinue use and schedule professional service to prevent compressor damage.
