Possible Causes
Blocked fan blades, Failed Poolex fan motor, Faulty fan capacitor (on single-speed motors), Broken fan motor wiring or connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power and wait for the fan to stop completely before touching it.
Checks:
- Inspect fan area: Remove any leaves, plastic bags, or objects obstructing the fan. Ensure the fan spins freely by hand.
- Check for wobble: A bent fan blade can overload the motor; visually inspect and replace if damaged.
- Inspect wiring: Look for loose or burnt connectors at the fan motor and on the main control board.
- Capacitor (if fitted): Many Poolex units use a start/run capacitor for the fan. A bulged or leaking capacitor should be replaced with an identical Poolex fan motor capacitor.
Fan motor replacement:
- If the fan does not start even when pushed by hand (with power off), the motor may be failed.
- Order the correct Poolex fan motor assembly for your model.
- Disconnect wiring, remove mounting screws, and swap the motor and fan blade as a unit if possible.
- Restore power and verify that FA is cleared and the fan runs smoothly.
If you are not comfortable working around moving parts and mains voltage, contact a professional.
