Possible Causes
Defective inlet thermistor, Sensor reading out of range in cold water, Loose sensor connection, Sensor not fully immersed in water stream
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power. Water may be very cold; avoid prolonged contact.
- Check actual water temperature: Measure pool water with a reliable thermometer and compare to the heater display. Large differences indicate sensor issues.
- Inspect inlet sensor: Locate the inlet temperature sensor on the header. Ensure it is fully inserted and secured.
- Verify wiring: Check the sensor cable for damage and reseat the connector at the control board.
- Replace if faulty: If E16 persists and readings are clearly wrong, replace the inlet temperature sensor with a Poolworld-compatible part.
Warning: Freeze protection features are important for preventing damage; do not bypass or disable them.
