Possible Causes
Moisture in electrical compartment, Damaged wiring insulation, Faulty blower motor or igniter leaking to ground, Water intrusion into control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF power at the breaker. Do not repeatedly reset a tripping GFCI without inspection.
- Inspect for moisture: Open the electrical compartment and look for signs of water, condensation, or corrosion. Dry thoroughly and correct any leaks or missing gaskets.
- Check wiring: Look for nicks or cuts in insulation where wires pass through metal. Repair or replace damaged wires.
- Isolate components: A qualified technician can disconnect suspect components (blower, igniter) one at a time to identify which causes the GFCI to trip.
- Replace faulty parts: Replace any component found to be leaking current to ground.
Warning: Ground faults can be hazardous; if unsure, contact a licensed electrician or pool professional.
