Possible Causes
Blocked combustion air intake, Failed SmartPool air pressure switch, Inducer fan not running (if equipped), Loose tubing to air switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Problems with combustion air can lead to unsafe operation. If you suspect exhaust smell or soot, shut down immediately.
- Check intake openings: Make sure all cabinet louvers and intake grills are clear of obstructions.
- Inspect inducer (if present): For SmartPool models with an inducer fan, verify the fan starts when there is a call for heat. Listen for unusual noises or failure to start.
- Examine air pressure switch tubing: With power off, inspect the small silicone tube between the inducer housing and the air pressure switch. Ensure it is not cracked, kinked, or disconnected.
- Reset and test: Restore power and call for heat. If SPAO2 returns, the air pressure switch or inducer assembly may require professional replacement.
