Possible Causes
Incorrectly adjusted SmartPool pressure switch, Marginal water flow near switch threshold, Debris in pressure switch port, Failing pressure switch contacts
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Warning: Do not permanently jumper the pressure switch; this defeats a critical safety.
- Improve flow margin: Increase pump speed slightly and ensure filter and skimmer baskets are clean so the pressure switch sees solid flow.
- Inspect switch tubing/port: With power off, remove the small tube or fitting feeding the pressure switch on the SmartPool header. Clear any debris or scale buildup.
- Check adjustment (if adjustable): Some SmartPool switches have an adjustment screw. Only make small 1/8-turn changes, following the service manual, to prevent the heater from running with no flow.
- Replace if unstable: If SPPS continues despite good flow, replace the SmartPool water pressure switch.
