Possible Causes
Shorted SmartPool blower or inducer motor, Damaged wiring harness, Incorrect breaker size for heater load, Internal control board short
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Electrical hazard: Repeatedly resetting a tripping breaker is unsafe.
- Identify timing: Note whether the breaker trips immediately when the heater is powered, or only when it attempts to start the fan or ignition.
- Visual inspection: With power off, inspect wiring inside the heater for melted insulation, loose wires, or signs of arcing.
- Isolate loads (technician recommended): A pro can disconnect individual components (blower, transformer) to find the shorted part.
- Do not upsize breaker: Never install a larger breaker than specified for the SmartPool heater.
