Possible Causes

Blocked internal airflow, Insulation displaced inside SmartPool cabinet, Exhaust recirculating into intake, Sooted heat exchanger

Burn hazard: Avoid touching hot metal surfaces.

Check clearances: Ensure the heater has the minimum clearances to walls and structures specified by SmartPool, so exhaust does not recirculate.
Inspect louvers: Make sure all intake and exhaust openings on the cabinet are clear.
