Possible Causes
Open safety circuit (pressure switch, high limit, rollout), Faulty SmartPool control board logic, Loose safety loop wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Overview: The control will not open the gas valve until all safeties prove closed.
- Check display: Look for any small icons or text indicating open safeties (FLO, HI, ROL) even if no code is shown.
- Inspect safety loop: With power off, trace the low-voltage safety circuit wiring (pressure switch, high limit, rollout) and ensure all connectors are tight.
- Reset manual safeties: If your SmartPool model has manual reset high limit or rollout switches, press them once after the heater has cooled.
- Test again: Restore power and call for heat. If still no ignition sequence, the control board may not be seeing the safety loop as closed.
