How to Fix / Troubleshooting
DANGER: Uncommanded firing can overheat the pool or spa.
- Switch to standby: Set the SmartPool heater to OFF or STANDBY mode on the front panel.
- Check external wiring: Disconnect any external thermostat or automation wires at the heater. If the problem stops, the issue is in the external control.
- Observe behavior: If the heater still tries to fire with all external controls disconnected, the internal control board relay may be stuck and should be replaced.
