Possible Causes
Failed fan motor, Obstructed fan blade, Faulty fan capacitor (on non-ECM models), Damaged fan motor wiring or connector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker. Do not attempt to spin the fan with power on.
- Check for obstructions: Look through the top grille and around the fan blade for sticks, leaves, or ice blocking movement. Remove any debris.
- Spin test: With power off, gently try to rotate the fan blade by hand. It should turn freely. If it is stiff or seized, the motor bearings may have failed.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the top cover (if accessible) and check the fan motor wiring harness and plug for loose connections or burn marks.
- Capacitor check: On models with a separate fan capacitor, inspect for bulging or leaking. A failed capacitor can prevent the fan from starting.
- Restart: Restore power and clear the E07 code. If the fan still does not start or E07 returns, replace the fan motor assembly (and capacitor if used).
