Possible Causes
Misplaced temperature sensor, Stuck relay on control board, Incorrect sensor type installed, External automation miscalibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before adjusting sensors or control wiring.
- Verify setpoint: Confirm the heater's set temperature and compare with an independent thermometer in the pool or spa.
- Check sensor location: Ensure the Sta-Rite water temperature sensor is properly installed in the manifold and not influenced by localized hot water.
- Inspect control board relays: If the heater continues firing after reaching setpoint, the gas valve relay on the board may be stuck. Replace the main control board.
- Review automation calibration: If controlled by an external system, recalibrate temperature sensors and setpoints in the automation controller.
