Possible Causes
Failed keypad membrane, Moisture intrusion into control panel, Loose ribbon cable, Faulty display board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before removing the control panel cover.
- Dry the panel: If the heater is outdoors and recently exposed to heavy rain or splashing, allow the control panel to dry. Use a dry cloth and protect it from further water exposure.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the front bezel and check the flat ribbon cable between the Display/Keypad Board and the main control board. Reseat both ends.
- Look for corrosion: Examine the keypad area for signs of water ingress or corrosion. If the overlay is cracked or peeling, replace the entire display/keypad assembly.
- Test with remote (if available): If you have an external controller, see if you can operate the heater remotely. If remote control works but local keypad does not, the keypad board is faulty.
