Possible Causes
Failed keypad membrane, Loose ribbon cable, Moisture behind display, Damaged display board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off power before removing the front control panel.
- Inspect keypad area: Look for signs of water intrusion, condensation, or physical damage to the keypad overlay.
- Check ribbon cable: Gently disconnect and reconnect the ribbon cable between the keypad/display and the main control board. Ensure it is fully seated and not pinched.
- Dry moisture: If moisture is present, allow the panel to dry completely. Identify and correct any gasket or cover issues that allowed water in.
- Test operation: Restore power and test all buttons. If some or all keys remain unresponsive and E14 persists, the keypad or display board is likely defective.
- Replace keypad/display: Install a new Zodiac-compatible keypad or display assembly, transferring any seals or gaskets as required.
