Possible Causes
Loose or damaged keypad ribbon cable, Corroded connector pins on control board, Water intrusion into keypad, Faulty keypad module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn OFF power before removing any covers or disconnecting cables.
- Inspect keypad cable: Remove the control cover and locate the ribbon or harness connecting the keypad to the drive board. Ensure it is fully seated and not pinched or damaged.
- Check for corrosion: Look for green/white corrosion on connector pins. Light corrosion can sometimes be cleaned with contact cleaner and a soft brush.
- Dry moisture: If there is evidence of condensation or water inside the keypad area, dry thoroughly and correct any source of leaks or spray.
- Reseat connectors: Unplug and replug the keypad connector several times to wipe the contacts, then restore power and test.
- Replace keypad or control board: If ERR7 persists, replace the keypad assembly first. If that does not resolve the issue, the main control board may be defective.
