Possible Causes

Blocked return line or closed valve, Severely dirty filter causing high head pressure, Impeller partially blocked, Motor windings shorted

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Shut off power at the breaker before adjusting valves or opening the pump.

  • Open all valves: Verify that all return and suction valves are fully open. A partially closed valve can cause high pressure and overload.
  • Clean or backwash filter: Check the filter pressure gauge. If it is 8–10 psi above clean pressure, backwash (sand/DE) or clean cartridges thoroughly.
  • Inspect for obstructions: Remove the pump lid and basket. Check the impeller eye for debris by reaching in with a screwdriver or your fingers (power OFF). Clear any leaves, hair, or plastic.
  • Check motor current draw: With power restored, use a clamp meter to measure amps at full speed. If above nameplate rating with clean plumbing, the motor may have internal faults and require replacement.

After clearing restrictions and cleaning the filter, reset the controller and test. If E07 recurs with normal system pressure, consult a technician.
