Possible Causes
Interrupted firmware update, Electrical surge damaging memory, Defective EEPROM/flash on AquaFlo controller, Static discharge event
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before connecting any service tools or opening the controller.
- Power cycle: Turn off the breaker for at least 5 minutes, then restore power and observe if the error clears.
- Reapply firmware (if supported): Use AquaFlo’s official firmware update procedure (USB, SD card, or service tool) to reload the firmware image.
- Factory reset: Perform a full factory reset from the service menu. Note that this will erase all custom settings.
If E20 remains after firmware reload and reset, the control board’s memory hardware is likely damaged and the board should be replaced.
