Possible Causes
Shorted motor windings, Stalled rotor drawing locked-rotor current, Loose high-resistance connection, Foreign object contacting motor windings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately turn off power at the main breaker. Do not attempt to restart the pump until it has been inspected.
- Inspect motor exterior: Look for burn marks, melted plastic, or discoloration on the motor housing and terminal box.
- Check wiring connections: After cooling, remove the terminal cover and inspect for burnt terminals or loose wires. Tighten or replace as needed.
- Test motor windings: Use a multimeter to check resistance between windings and to ground. Abnormal readings indicate internal damage.
- Replace motor if necessary: If there is any sign of internal burning or insulation failure, replace the entire AquaFlo motor assembly.
