Possible Causes
Failed AquaFlo start capacitor, Stuck centrifugal switch (on single-speed models), Low supply voltage, Seized impeller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and discharge capacitors before handling.
- Check impeller for binding: Remove the pump lid and basket, then try to rotate the motor shaft from the rear. If the shaft is free, the issue is likely electrical.
- Inspect start capacitor: Locate the capacitor can on the motor. If bulged or leaking, replace with the exact AquaFlo-specified value.
- Test capacitor: Use a capacitance meter to verify the µF rating. Replace if more than 10% out of spec.
- Verify voltage: Measure supply voltage at the motor terminals while attempting to start. Low voltage indicates a supply issue that must be corrected by an electrician.
