E16
Aquaflow
Flow / Pressure Protection Triggered
Display shows E16 and pump stops when filter pressure is high

Possible Causes
Clogged pool filter, Closed return valves, Blocked return lines, Faulty flow or pressure sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the pump before adjusting valves or opening the filter.
- Check filter pressure: Read the pressure gauge on the filter. If it is significantly above the clean starting pressure, the filter needs service.
- Backwash or clean filter: For sand or DE filters, perform a full backwash. For cartridge filters, remove and hose off or replace cartridges as needed.
- Verify valve positions: Ensure all return valves are open and that no valves are set to closed or recirculate unintentionally.
- Inspect flow sensor: If equipped, check the Aquaflow flow or pressure sensor wiring and clean any debris from the sensor body.
After restoring normal flow, clear the error and restart. If E16 recurs with normal filter pressure, the sensor may be faulty.
