Possible Causes

Rust or scale buildup on shaft, Debris lodged in impeller, Swollen mechanical seal causing drag

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and close valves before opening the pump.

  • Access impeller: Remove the Aquaflow pump lid and basket. Reach into the wet end and feel for debris around the impeller. Remove any obstructions.
  • Free the shaft: At the rear of the motor, remove the end cap and use a wrench on the shaft flats to gently work the shaft back and forth until it spins freely.
  • Check for leaks: If water has leaked into the motor area, the mechanical seal may have failed and swollen, increasing drag.

Once the shaft spins freely, reassemble and test. Persistent E17 indicates a more serious mechanical or motor issue requiring professional service.
