Possible Causes
Open or shorted start capacitor, Seized motor bearings, Jammed impeller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the breaker and verify power is off. Capacitors can store charge; discharge them safely.
- Check shaft rotation: With power off, try to rotate the Aquaflow motor shaft by hand at the rear. If it will not turn, the motor or impeller is seized.
- Inspect capacitor: Locate and visually inspect the start/run capacitor for bulging or leaks. Replace if damaged.
- Clear impeller: Remove the pump lid and basket, and check for debris blocking the impeller.
If the motor remains locked or the breaker continues to trip, the motor assembly should be replaced.
