Pump makes a cavitation noise (loud, gravelly, with surging flow)

Safety first: Turn off the pump before adjusting valves.

• Open valves fully: Ensure all suction and return valves are fully open.
• Clean suction side: Clear skimmer and pump baskets and check for obstructions.
• Reduce speed: On Aquaflow variable-speed models, lower the RPM until the noise subsides.

Persistent cavitation can damage the impeller and housing; correct the cause promptly.
