Possible Causes
Impeller jammed by debris, Seized motor shaft or bearings, Shorted motor windings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the breaker and lock it out if possible. Confirm the pump is de‑energized before opening the housing.
- Check for mechanical blockage: Close suction and return valves. Remove the AquaJet pump lid and basket. Inspect the impeller area with a flashlight. Remove leaves, stones, or plastic that may be wedged in the impeller vanes.
- Spin the motor shaft: Access the rear of the motor (fan end). Try to rotate the shaft by hand. It should turn smoothly. If it is stiff or frozen, the bearings may be seized.
- Clean and reassemble: After clearing debris, reinstall the basket and lid, ensuring the lid O‑ring is clean and lubricated with pool‑safe silicone grease. Open valves and prime the pump before restarting.
- If shaft still locked or E02 returns: The motor windings may be shorted or bearings failed. Continued attempts to start can damage the AquaJet drive. Have the motor assembly tested and replaced if necessary.
