Possible Causes
Blocked motor ventilation, High ambient temperature with poor airflow, Failing motor cooling fan, Overloaded pump due to high head or closed valves
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power at the breaker before inspecting the motor housing.
- Inspect ventilation: Check the AquaJet motor shroud and cooling fins for dust, leaves, or spider webs. Clean with a soft brush and low‑pressure air. Ensure at least 12 inches of clearance around the motor for airflow.
- Verify valves and flow: Confirm suction and return valves are fully open. A partially closed valve can overload the pump. Check that the filter is clean and backwashed to reduce system pressure.
- Check fan operation: With power restored, briefly start the pump and observe the rear fan (if visible). Turn power off again and ensure the fan blades are intact and not rubbing the shroud.
- Reduce run time in extreme heat: In very hot climates, schedule AquaJet pump cycles for cooler parts of the day or use multiple shorter cycles.
- If E03 persists: The internal thermal sensor or motor windings may be failing. Continued overheating can permanently damage the motor; have the motor assembly evaluated or replaced.
