Possible Causes

Seized motor shaft, Debris jammed in impeller, Failed start capacitor (on single‑speed AquaJet models)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power and verify the breaker is off before touching the motor or capacitor.

  • Check for mechanical binding: Remove the pump lid and basket, and inspect for debris. Try to rotate the motor shaft by hand from the rear. If it will not turn, the motor or impeller is jammed.
  • Inspect capacitor: On models with an external start capacitor, discharge it safely (using a resistor) and inspect for bulging or leaking. Replace with the exact AquaJet‑specified microfarad rating and voltage.
  • Test run: After clearing debris or replacing the capacitor, restore power and test. If the motor still only hums, it likely needs replacement.
