Pump motor housing becomes extremely hot to the touch during normal operation.

Safety first: Unplug the pump and allow it to cool before handling.

• Improve ventilation: Ensure the Bestway pump is not enclosed in a tight box or covered. Clear debris from motor vents.
• Reduce hydraulic load: Clean the filter and pump basket, and verify all valves are fully open.
• Check for noise or drag: Listen for bearing noise and check if the motor shaft spins freely when disconnected from power. Stiff rotation indicates bearing issues.
• Duty cycle: Follow Bestway’s recommended maximum continuous run time. If overheating persists, the motor may need replacement.
