Possible Causes
Failed display module on Calpeda controller, Loose HMI ribbon cable, Blown low-voltage supply fuse on controller PCB, Water ingress into display panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before removing the display or opening the controller.
- Check for backlight or LEDs: Look closely to see if any faint backlight or indicator LEDs are present. Total darkness suggests power loss to the display.
- Inspect connections: Remove the display panel and check the ribbon cable or connector between the HMI and the controller PCB. Reseat firmly.
- Check low-voltage supply: Using a multimeter, verify that the controller's low-voltage output (e.g., 5 V or 12 V) is present at the display connector. Replace any blown fuses on the PCB if accessible and specified by Calpeda.
- Replace display module: If power is present but the display remains blank, replace the HMI/display module with a Calpeda-compatible part.
