Possible Causes
Blocked pump strainer basket, closed suction valve, air leak on suction line, low water level in pool or balance tank
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off the pump before opening any lids or unions.
- Check water level: Ensure the pool or balance tank water level is high enough to supply the Certikin pump. Top up if necessary.
- Inspect strainer basket: Remove the clear pump lid, take out the basket, and clean out leaves and debris. Check that the basket is not cracked and seats properly.
- Verify valve positions: Confirm that suction and return valves are open and not partially closed.
- Check for air leaks: Examine the pump lid O‑ring, suction unions, and any Certikin multiport valve connections for air bubbles when running. Lubricate or replace the lid O‑ring if you see air in the pump housing.
- Prime the pump: Fill the pump housing with water, refit the lid securely, then restart. Observe if the pump quickly establishes full flow.
If E06 continues, the flow sensor or pressure switch used for dry‑run protection may be faulty and require replacement.
