Possible Causes
Motor running near or above rated current, inadequate ventilation, failing thermal overload, high ambient temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Isolate power before opening any covers.
- Measure current: Use a clamp meter to check that running current does not exceed the Certikin motor rating.
- Improve cooling: Ensure the plant room is ventilated and that the motor cooling fins are clean.
- Check overload setting: Verify that the overload relay in the control panel is correctly set to the motor full‑load current.
If the motor is correctly loaded but still overheats, the motor windings may be deteriorating and the motor should be replaced.
