Possible Causes

Blocked or jammed impeller in DAB pump housing, Seized motor bearings, Incorrectly sized pump for system head causing overload, Faulty current sensing circuit on DAB control module

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate power at the breaker and lock it out if possible. Never work on the pump while it is connected to live power.

Steps to check:

  • Inspect for hydraulic blockage: Close isolation valves. Remove the pump lid and basket. Check the DAB impeller area for stones, leaves, cable ties, or other debris. Remove any obstruction with insulated tools.
  • Check impeller rotation: With power off, rotate the motor shaft from the rear (fan end) or via the impeller nut if accessible. It should turn smoothly. If it is stiff or locked, the bearings may be seized.
  • Clean strainer and filters: Empty the pump basket and backwash/clean the pool filter. Excessive backpressure can overload the motor.
  • Restart and monitor: Restore water flow, prime the pump, then re‑energize. Clear the error and observe current draw if you have a clamp meter. If E02 reappears quickly, stop and do not keep resetting.
  • If bearings are noisy or seized: The motor assembly or bearing set must be replaced. This is typically a workshop job.
