Possible Causes
Moisture inside motor terminal box, Damaged motor winding insulation, Water ingress into DAB control module, Damaged power cable or plug
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: This is a potential electric shock hazard. Do not attempt to run the pump until the fault is resolved. Isolate power at the breaker and use an RCD/GFCI‑protected circuit.
Steps to check:
- Inspect cable and plug: Look for cuts, crushed sections, or burn marks on the DAB pump power cable and plug. Replace if damaged.
- Check terminal box: Open the motor terminal cover. If you see water, rust, or condensation, dry the area thoroughly and identify the source of ingress (cracked grommet, missing gasket).
- Insulation test (by electrician): Have an electrician perform an insulation resistance test between windings and earth. Low resistance indicates a motor fault.
- Drying and sealing: If moisture was the only issue and insulation tests are good, dry the motor and reseal gaskets and cable entries.
- Persistent E08 or tripping RCD: Replace the motor assembly or DAB control module as recommended by a qualified technician.
