Possible Causes
Loose low-voltage harness between keypad and main PCB, Corroded PCB connectors due to moisture, Faulty control panel membrane, Internal controller failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Isolate power before removing any controller covers. Electronic boards are static-sensitive.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Inspect controller enclosure: Check for condensation, insects, or corrosion inside the Davey controller housing.
- 2. Reseat connectors: If accessible, gently unplug and replug the low-voltage ribbon cable between the display/keypad and the main control PCB to ensure a good connection.
- 3. Dry out moisture: If moisture is present, allow the controller to dry completely in a warm, dry environment before re-energising. Do not use direct heat guns on the PCB.
- 4. Check cable strain: Ensure the keypad cable is not pinched or under tension.
If E8 persists, the control PCB or keypad assembly may need replacement by a Davey service agent.
