Possible Causes
Partially blocked skimmer or pump basket, Dirty filter causing high backpressure, Air leak on suction side, Partially closed valve on suction or return line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before opening the pump lid or filter housing.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Clean baskets: Empty the skimmer and pump strainer baskets of all debris.
- 2. Service the filter: Backwash and rinse a Davey media filter, or remove and hose off a Davey cartridge filter. Replace cartridges that remain clogged after cleaning.
- 3. Check for air leaks: Inspect the pump lid O-ring, unions, and any suction fittings for bubbles visible under the pump lid when running. Reseat and lubricate seals as needed.
- 4. Verify valve positions: Ensure all necessary valves are fully open to allow adequate flow.
Once flow is restored, LO should clear automatically. If not, the pressure/flow sensing system may need service.
