Pump runs but there is no water circulation back to the pool (no visible flow at return jets).

Possible Causes
Air leak at pump lid O-ring, Suction union not sealed, Pool water level too low, Blocked suction line or skimmer weir stuck closed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before opening the pump or filter. Never run the pump dry for more than a few seconds.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Check water level and skimmer: Ensure water level is mid-skimmer and the skimmer weir flap moves freely.
- 2. Clean baskets: Empty skimmer and pump baskets of all debris.
- 3. Inspect and lubricate lid O-ring: Remove the Davey pump lid, clean the O-ring and groove, lubricate with silicone grease, and reinstall.
- 4. Tighten suction unions: Hand-tighten the suction-side union on the pump. Check for cracks in fittings.
- 5. Prime the pump: Fill the pump housing with water, replace the lid, open all valves, then restore power and watch for a solid water column under the lid.
If the pump repeatedly loses prime, there may be a hidden suction leak or mechanical seal issue requiring a technician.
