Possible Causes
Loose union nuts, Worn union O‑rings, Poorly sealed threaded adapters
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the pump and relieve pressure before loosening any fittings.
- Tighten unions: Hand-tighten the Emaux pump unions. Use a strap wrench if necessary, but avoid overtightening which can crack the fittings.
- Inspect union O‑rings: Open the union and check the O‑ring for damage or flattening. Replace with the correct size O‑ring if needed.
- Reseal threads: For threaded adapters screwed into the pump ports, remove, clean, and reapply PTFE tape or thread sealant, then reinstall.
- Support pipework: Ensure the connected pipework is properly supported so it does not stress the pump ports.
Persistent leaks may indicate a cracked pump housing, which will require replacement.
