Possible Causes
Blocked cooling vents, Pump running in direct sun with poor airflow, Partially seized motor bearings, Overloaded pump due to high system pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the pump and allow it to cool before handling.
Steps:
- 1. Improve ventilation: Move the Flowclear pump to a shaded, well-ventilated location. Ensure air can circulate freely around the motor.
- 2. Clean vents: Brush away dust, leaves, and cobwebs from the motor cooling slots.
- 3. Check for mechanical drag: With power off, spin the impeller by hand. If it feels rough or stiff, the bearings may be failing and the motor should be replaced.
- 4. Reduce system load: Clean or backwash the filter and ensure all valves are open to reduce back pressure.
- 5. Monitor: If the pump continues to cycle off on thermal overload, replace the Flowclear motor assembly.
