Possible Causes
Clogged Flowclear filter cartridge, Dirty sand in Flowclear sand filter, Partially blocked suction hose, Debris in pump impeller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the pump before opening the filter or pump housing.
Steps:
- 1. Check and clean filter: Remove the Flowclear cartridge and hose it off thoroughly, or replace if old. For sand filters, perform a full backwash and rinse.
- 2. Inspect hoses: Look for kinks, crushed sections, or visible blockages in both suction and return hoses. Straighten or replace damaged hoses.
- 3. Clean pump basket and impeller: Remove the pump lid and basket. Clear debris from the basket and reach into the inlet to feel for obstructions at the impeller. Remove any debris carefully.
- 4. Verify water level and valves: Ensure the pool water level is correct and any Flowclear valves are fully open.
- 5. Re-prime and test: Fill the pump housing with water, reinstall components, and restart the pump to check for improved flow.
