Possible Causes
Air leak on suction side fittings, Damaged pump lid O-ring, Suction hose above water level, Cracked suction fittings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the pump before adjusting hoses or lids.
Steps:
- 1. Verify water level: Ensure the pool water level is high enough to cover all Flowclear suction fittings.
- 2. Check suction hose routing: Avoid high loops and ensure the hose slopes gently from pool to pump.
- 3. Seal lid and fittings: Clean and lubricate the pump lid O-ring, and tighten all suction fittings. Replace any cracked adapters or O-rings.
- 4. Prime properly: Fill the pump housing completely with water before starting. It may take several minutes for all air to purge.
- 5. Replace faulty parts: If prime is still lost quickly, replace suspect Flowclear suction hose and fittings.
