Possible Causes
Worn mechanical shaft seal, Cracked Flowclear pump housing, Loose housing bolts, Damaged housing O-ring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the pump and keep electrical connections away from leaking water.
Steps:
- 1. Identify leak source: Dry the pump and run it briefly to see where water emerges (housing seam, shaft area, fittings).
- 2. Tighten housing screws: If leaking at the housing joint, gently tighten the screws or clamps that hold the Flowclear pump housing together.
- 3. Inspect O-ring: Open the housing (per manual) and inspect the large housing O-ring. Replace if flattened, cracked, or swollen.
- 4. Mechanical seal: If water appears at the junction between motor and pump housing (shaft area), the mechanical seal is worn. Replace the Flowclear shaft seal kit or pump head assembly.
- 5. Replace cracked parts: If the plastic housing is cracked, replace the entire Flowclear pump housing or wet end.
