Pump cannot maintain prime after shutting off; loses water from basket quickly

Safety first: Turn off power and close valves as needed.

• Inspect for leaks: Check all suction and discharge fittings for drips when the pump is off. Repair any leaks.
• Check lid seal: Ensure the Franklin Electric pump lid O-ring seals properly.
• Install or service check valve: If the pump is above water level, install a check valve on the suction line or service an existing one that may be stuck open.
• Re-prime and test: Prime the pump and observe whether water remains in the basket after shutdown.
