How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the pump before removing the lid.
- Clean sealing surfaces: Remove the lid and O-ring. Clean the groove and mating surface on the pump housing.
- Inspect O-ring: Check for cracks, flat spots, or stretching. Replace if damaged.
- Lubricate: Apply a thin coat of silicone-based pool lube to the O-ring and reinstall.
- Seat lid properly: Place the lid evenly and tighten by hand until snug. Do not overtighten.
- Replace lid: If leaks persist and the lid is visibly warped or cracked, replace the lid with a Franklin Electric-approved part.
