Possible Causes

Impeller jammed by debris, Foreign object lodged in volute, Severely worn or seized motor bearings, Shaft seal failure causing binding

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Shut off power at the breaker and close valves before opening the pump housing.

  • Open the strainer housing: Remove the clear lid on the Harris pump, take out the basket, and inspect for large debris. Remove any obstructions.
  • Check impeller for blockage: Reach into the suction side and feel for sticks, stones, or plastic lodged in the impeller eye. If you cannot clear it from the front, remove the motor from the wet end to access the impeller directly.
  • Inspect shaft rotation: With the motor removed and power OFF, rotate the shaft by hand. It should spin freely. If it is stiff or locked, the bearings or seal may be seized.
  • Replace worn components: If the shaft seal has leaked and caused corrosion or binding, replace the shaft seal kit and consider replacing the motor if bearings are noisy or rough.

After clearing obstructions and reassembling with proper gaskets and seals, restore power and test. Persistent E06 indicates a deeper motor or drive fault.
