Possible Causes
Impeller not fully tightened on shaft, Broken impeller vanes, Worn or cracked diffuser, Foreign object in volute
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and close valves before disassembling the pump.
- Remove motor from housing: Unbolt the Harris motor from the pump housing and pull it back to expose the impeller and diffuser.
- Inspect impeller: Check for cracks, missing pieces, or looseness on the shaft. Tighten the impeller onto the shaft by holding the shaft at the rear and turning the impeller clockwise.
- Inspect diffuser: Examine the diffuser for cracks or wear that could allow the impeller to contact it. Replace if damaged.
- Remove debris: Clear any small stones or debris from the volute.
Reassemble carefully and test for noise. Replace the impeller or diffuser if damage is found.
