Possible Causes
Cracked or flattened lid o-ring, Debris on sealing surface, Warped pump lid, Lid not tightened evenly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off the pump before opening the lid.
- Inspect lid and o-ring: Remove the clear lid and examine the o-ring for cracks, flat spots, or chemical swelling. Clean the lid and o-ring groove.
- Lubricate o-ring: Apply a thin coat of pool-safe silicone lubricant to the o-ring and reinstall it in the groove.
- Check lid for warping: Place the lid on a flat surface to see if it rocks. If warped or cracked, replace the lid.
- Reinstall and tighten: Refill the pump pot with water, reinstall the lid, and hand-tighten evenly. Do not use tools that could overtighten and crack the lid.
After restarting the pump, observe for leaks and re-tighten slightly if needed.
