Possible Causes

Lid O-ring leak on PowerFlo, Loose suction union or hose clamp, Cracked suction hose or PVC fitting, Skimmer vortex drawing air due to low water level

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the pump before tightening fittings or removing lids.

  • Raise water level: Ensure pool water is high enough to prevent a vortex in the skimmer.
  • Service lid O-ring: Clean, lubricate, and if necessary replace the PowerFlo lid O-ring.
  • Check suction fittings: Tighten unions and hose clamps on the suction side. Replace any cracked hoses or fittings.
  • Test with water hose: With the pump running, gently spray water over suspected suction joints. If bubbles decrease when spraying a joint, that joint is likely leaking air and should be repaired.
