Possible Causes
Overheating PowerFlo motor due to restricted ventilation, High system backpressure, Incorrect voltage or loose connections, Failing internal thermal protector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power before inspection.
- Improve cooling: Ensure the PowerFlo pump is in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Clear debris from motor vents.
- Reduce load: Clean/backwash the filter and open all valves to reduce system pressure.
- Check wiring: Inspect connections at the motor terminal block for looseness or discoloration. Tighten as needed.
- Monitor operation: After corrections, run the pump and monitor temperature. If cycling continues, the motor’s thermal protector may be failing and the motor should be replaced.
