Hayward PowerFlo pump lid is difficult to remove or install; threads bind or squeak.

Safety first: Turn off the pump before removing the lid.

• Clean threads: Wipe the threads on the PowerFlo housing and lid with a clean cloth to remove sand and debris.
• Inspect O-ring: Remove the O-ring and check for swelling or deformation. Replace if it no longer fits properly in the groove.
• Lubricate: Apply a light coat of silicone-based lubricant to the O-ring and threads to ease installation.
