Possible Causes

Clogged PowerFlo pump basket, Debris lodged in PowerFlo impeller, Dirty or clogged pool filter restricting flow, Collapsed or kinked suction hose to PowerFlo pump

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the pump before opening the system.

  • Clean baskets: Remove and clean the skimmer basket and the PowerFlo pump basket thoroughly.
  • Backwash or clean filter: If you have a sand or DE filter, backwash until the sight glass runs clear. For cartridge filters, remove and hose off the cartridge or replace if very dirty.
  • Check hoses: Inspect the suction and return hoses connected to the PowerFlo for kinks, collapses, or obstructions. Straighten or replace as needed.
  • Inspect impeller: If flow is still weak, remove the PowerFlo motor from the wet end (housing) and inspect the impeller eye for debris such as hair, seeds, or small stones. Carefully clear the vanes without damaging the impeller.
